—Rest in peace, you dear and beautiful man.
Titanic (film) trivia: After filming various takes of the scene when Rose runs back to Jack after jumping out of the lifeboat, Leonardo DiCaprio asked James Cameron if they could have one more take “for the actors.” Kate Winslet says: "That was rather daunting, because I had no idea what Leo was going to do." The actors ran toward each other and when Leo got a hold of her, he lifted Kate up in the air and let all of his emotions out. That is the take that made it into the film’s final cut.
The Alnwick Poison Garden is pretty much what you’d think it is: a garden full of plants that can kill you (among many other things). Some of the plants are so dangerous that they have to be kept behind bars.
I combined Katy Perry’s Roar with Sara Bareilles’s Brave.
and they’re legitimately the same song.
I didn’t even have to cut gaps or anything.
ruh roh katy perry.
I actually like this more than I probably should.
So I accidentally started playing 25 different pop punk songs in 25 different tabs.
MY ABSOLUTE NEW FAVOURITE POST. JESUS CHRIST. YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW. ALL OF THIS.
I kinda ship some blogs with other blogs in hopes that one day you’ll follow each other. So anyone who reblogs this I will pair you up with another blog who I think you are compatible with. Please I’ll do them all!
NOVEMBER 20 IS THE DEADLINE. RESULTS WILL BE INBOXED :)
When a magnitude 6.8 earthquake shook Olympia, Wash., in 2001, shop owner Jason Ward discovered that a sand-tracing pendulum had recorded the vibrations in the image above.
Seismologists say that the “flower” at the center reflects the higher-frequency waves that arrived first; the outer, larger-amplitude oscillations record the lower-frequency waves that arrived later.
“You never think about an earthquake as being artistic — it’s violent and destructive,” Norman MacLeod, president of Gaelic Wolf Consulting in Port Townsend, told ABC News. “But in the middle of all that chaos, this fine, delicate artwork was created.”
babies are naturally able to swim hello they just spent nine moths in amiotic fluid this is instinctive so no, parent is not shitty, parent is re-enforcing baby’s natural instinctive behaviour.
parent is good for doing this because parent is basically saying “yes the behaviours you were born with are great!”
Yup, if babies are ‘taught’ (allowed) to swim before they are six weeks old, they never lose the instincts they were born with that lets them hold their head above water and hold their breath when they need to. SCIENCE, man.
What’s really cool is, humans are the only primates known to have this instinct at birth. Other ape babies would just freak out and drown. So I don’t think it comes from being in amniotic fluid for 9 months (since it’s not like they have room to actually swim in there). It’s been speculated that humans evolved in the ocean at some point, which is a really cool theory that I recommend checking out.

Former Love Surprises Artist at Her MoMa Retrospective After Decades Apart
Marina Abramovic and Ulay shared a great love story in the 70s. Together they performed art out of the van they lived in, forming a collective called “the other”. When their relationship had come to an end, they went to the Great Wall of China to walk it together. Both started walking from the opposite end until they met in the middle for one last big hug before disappearing from each other’s lives. For her 2010 MoMa retrospective, Marina performed ‘The Artist is Present’, the biggest exhibition of performance art in MoMA’s history. During the performance, Marina shared a minute of silence staring into the eyes of a complete stranger who was seated in front of her. This is when Ulay arrived, without her prior knowledge. Watch the video to see what happens.
